Connie Church-Fey's assignment was a lobby makeover at Kansas City's historic, nationally acclaimed Raphael Hotel. The owners wanted a more dramatic and romantic welcome area – one that connected them to the neighborhood and the hotel's rich history. Connie introduced a new décor scheme designed to create more comfortable conversation areas while enhancing guests' awareness of the hotel's historic relationship to the one-and-only Country Club Plaza. Emblematic are classic French hooded chairs that fondly recall salon panache and two commissioned mosaics featuring iconic Plaza images
